Roper Range / Stove / Oven Fault Codes
Roper ovens and ranges display fault codes to alert you of problems with the control board, temperature sensors, keypad, or door mechanisms. Below is a complete reference guide for all common Roper fault codes, including both 2-digit and 4-digit formats.
Fault Code List & Fixes
- F1 - E0: EEPROM communication error
1. Disconnect power for at least 30 seconds.
2. Reapply power and observe for at least one minute.
3. If code reappears, replace the control board (ERC/clock). Applies to all F1-E codes except F1-E3. - F1 - E1: EEPROM checksum error
- F1 - E2: UL A/D error(s)
- F1 - E4: Model ID error
- F1 - E5: Calibration shifted
- F1 - E6: Latch signal mismatch error
- F1 - E9: Stack overflow
- F1 - E3: Wiring harness cavity size mismatch
The cavity size jumper settings do not match the stored configuration. Check the harness jumpers for accuracy. - F2 - E0: Shorted keypad
Check the keypad connection to the control board. If pressing CANCEL doesn't clear it, replace the keypad or the entire control board if integrated. - F2 - E1: Keypad cable unplugged
- F2 - E5 / E6: Cancel key drive line open
- F3 - E0 to E7: Sensor-related errors
These include open/shorted oven sensors (upper/lower) and warming drawer sensor faults. Inspect wiring and replace the RTD sensor if necessary. - F4 - E1: Meat probe malfunction – shorted
Check the probe, receptacle, and related wiring for damage or contamination. Replace the probe if needed. - F5 - E0: Door switches disagree (open door + locked latch)
Follow step-by-step diagnostics for latch and switch checks. If the issue remains after verifying connections and replacing switches, replace the control board. - F5 - E1 to E7: Self-clean and door latch errors
These include latch not locking/unlocking, CLEAN mode latch faults, and self-clean temperature issues. Inspect latch, switches, and wiring. - F6 - E0: Return line not connected
Indicates a missing return line during power-up. Replace the control board. - F7 - E1: Common switch wire defective
Common +5V wire is shorted to ground or neutral. Inspect all latch and door switch wiring. Replace switches or control board as needed. - F0: Board failure – Replace control board (ERC/clock)
- F1: Board failure – Replace control board (ERC/clock)
- F2: Oven temperature too high
1. Check for welded relay contacts.
2. Check oven sensor resistance and wiring.
3. Replace oven sensor or control board if necessary. - F3: Oven temperature sensor open – Replace RTD sensor
- F4: Oven temperature sensor shorted – Replace RTD sensor
- F5: Board failure – Replace control board (ERC/clock)
- F7: Function key stuck on ERC – Replace control board
- F8: Board failure – Replace control board (ERC/clock)
- F9: Oven door lock failure
Check door lock switch wiring and switch function.
